Anthropology, in its most basic definition, is the study of humans. How humans live, what they do, etc. That study is conducted as both an inquiry of the past and present.
Physical anthropology is the study of humans, past and present, as physical beings.
Cultural anthropology is the study of human behavior. The Anthropologist's basic definition of culture being what people do.
